Eco-Chair

It's a strange design conundrum: all the design know-how and technology at humanity's disposal has basically failed to produce truly comfy outdoor furniture. What really beats a nice blanket on a soft patch of grass or a well-woven hammock? Not an Adirondack chair or one of those heinous Frank Gehry "twists".

Luckily, the folks over at Inhabitat have unearthed a few compelling alternatives to the picnic blanket or searing hot vinyl lawn chair. One such product is a chair actually made of grass.

Assembled around a framework of corrugated cardboard which is filled with dirt and seeded, the TerraGrass Chair turns into a comfy-looking grassy bump after a couple weeks of sun and rain, integrating the demands of human leisure directly into the natural cycle of the seasons.

The original posting even lists a couple other green furniture options, including the fully-DIY ReadyMade Sod Couch.

With May flowers about to give way to searing Summer humidity, you better get cracking to make sure your lawn-covered furniture is grown in for those late summer BBQs...
